Anomalies in public transport fares in Waterford

Earlier today, Marc Ó Cathasaigh TD questioned Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan TD in relation to the inconsistencies in pricing for regional public transport services where some PSO fares are more expensive than Expressway fares and some shorter local routes, which are often more used by commuters, are costlier than regional ones. An example given was the anomaly of the 362 service which runs from Dungarvan to Waterford and costs €13.50 while the same journey from Dungarvan to Waterford on the Expressway route costs €5.

Deputy Ó Cathasaigh also raised the omission of Tramore from the Waterford Metropolitan Area Transport strategy and the implications of that for the bus service between Tramore and Waterford.
